Nasi Panglima

This green colored rice has a special appearance and a unique flavor. Rice is the main food of Indonesian society. All the 16 types of traditional rice have been available since 2009, among them are nasi campur Century, nasi roro jonggrang, nasi liwet, nasi bogana or nasi panglima. “Nasi panglima has become one of the guests’ favorites in traditional rice,” states the Executive Chef of Hotel Atlet Century Park Jakarta, Yuswono. Nasi panglima is unique. Apart from its name, it is also unique because of the green colored rice. Yuswono says that the name of the rice is retrieved from the color because the green is identical to the color of the army’s attire. “The color is obtained from rice that is processed with suji leaf,” says the Chef who has had years of experience in Indonesian culinary. Yuswono tells the uniqueness of the rice other than the color is the special scent from the suji leaf. This green rice is then served in a basket and a base of banana leaves. “Nasi panglima is served with a traditional style for the urban tastes,” he says. It can be said that the rice is a complete and interesting rice because it is served green and also completed with side dishes like grilled chicken, meatball, dry tempe, potato and teri medan, urap sayur and fried sambal ampela liver. All the side dishes are served on a pot made of clay. Meanwhile, if nasi panglima is ordered, this is always served with a basket that is made of banana leaves and bamboo sticks to add a unique and traditional impression. Chrisna states that visitors who wish to enjoy this traditional rice just have to come for lunch in Hotel Atlet Century Park Jakarta, with a price of Rp. 121,000 per person. You can enjoy a variety of traditional rice including buffet for lunch. Senayan Café is open every day from 06.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. Breakfast from Monday to Friday at 06:00 a.m. to 10.00 a.m. whereas on Saturday and Sunday from 6:00a.m. to 11:00 p.m. During lunch, open at 11:30 a.m to 02:30 p.m. and lastly, dinner from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. |
